7:40 pm, late September. The depot faces west, so the last light lands on you, not in your guests’ eyes. The long lit roof on the right is the Platform.

Every ticket covers four stops.

Announcements from Platform 1

  • Jess R., married in October
Della quoted one number on the phone and that was the invoice, to the dollar. Our other quote had grown by $2,900 by the time we read the fine print.
  • Devin K., married in September
It rained at four. They had the chairs inside with the freight doors open before cocktail hour was over, and it was honestly the best part of the night.
  • Mara T., married in May
My grandparents rode the cart out to Milepost 12 like it was a parade. Della had our whole day on one printed card, and it ran exactly to it.

Why it’s one price.

Ray drove a feed route past this depot for twenty years. The last freight left in 1958 and the doors stayed shut for sixty more. We bought it with forty acres at a county auction in 2017, spent two winters on the brick and the roof, and married our niece here in October 2019.

I used to quote the room and add the rest, like everybody does. I got tired of being the cheap venue that turned into the expensive one. So now the price on the board is the price on the invoice, and I answer the phone myself.
